Hi, everyone. You cansee it's the stainless steel version, but there's three versions available now. And there's aluminumstainless steel and titanium. So the aluminum comes in at $399. You have two different sizes forall of the different watch models. You have 41 and 45 millimeters this year. So $399 or for the larger size it's $429. If you want cellular on thelower models at $100. However, the stainless steel models and titaniumedition models come with cellular already. So those are $699 and$749 for the stainless steel. And then you can go wellover a thousand for titanium, depending on the band that you get. 

This is the $749 version andthis actually just has the basic band with it since I'llprobably change that out after. So we'll go ahead and unbox this, take a look at it and set itup and see what it's all about. So here's the apple watch box and itdoesn't really look any different than before we just pull these pulltabs and it opens up like this, and then it has ourwatch in it and our band. So I just got a simple band this time.It's the abyss blue band solo loop. We'll set that aside andhere's the watch itself. So we'll set the wrapper or the packagingaside and let's take a look at it. So we've got some pull tabshere, so we'll pull these off and on the end you can see it says seriesseven, graphite stainless steel case. 

So let's go ahead and open it up. We'll take the top off here and I'mnot sure I'll be replacing my Titanium Edition series 6, but I'll have to make a determinationafter a couple of days use or so, or a week or so. Let's open thisup here for the box we'll release. There we go. And here is the series seven applelodge. So here's the paperwork. Let's take a look. If there'sanything in here, different, we just have how to openthe band or put the band on. And then your typical paperwork thatcomes with it with battery charging, handling, and safety, and more now inside this cable shouldbe a little bit different this year to charge the apple watch.And let's open it up here. And I say that it's differentbecause this year it's USB-C.

So while there's no charger in the box, they do give you a USB-C cablethis year, instead of USB-A. So you have that along withyour typical charger. And again, this is a stainless steel watch version. So you have a stainlesssteel charging puck. So you'll see here that it'sjust kind of an aluminum, or maybe it's just aluminum this year.It used to be a shiny stainless steel. I thought it had a wrapper around it. So it just appears to be aluminumthis year. Nothing special there. Now let's go ahead and takea look at the watch itself. So here's the watch and the differencebetween stainless steel and titanium is the stainless steel is shiny. So where the titanium ismore of a matte finish. So it's a little bit different thatway. So let's slide this out here. Let's see if we can getthis out. There we go. And here is the watch itself.So as we look around it, I accidentally booted it upalready. 

But as we look around, it's not really anydifferent than last year. We have the same sensors andeverything. And if we get closer, you'll see that it says series 7,45 millimeters, stainless steel. So no differences there, it will fitthe same bands that you already have. And you'll see it's booting up now.And so let me add a band to this. Maybe I'll change it out later on,but this is the titanium nomad band. I really like to use these usually, and I may have to get something differentsince I'm not sure they'll match 100%, but that gives you an idea of what itlooks like there let's go ahead and set the apple watch up. So we'llgo ahead and hit continue. And it says set up apple watch. So wehave the series seven apple watch here. We want to set it up for myself. And then we're going to positionthis camera over the code here, or the kind of a QR code type thingthat's going on on the apple watch.

Let's see if we can get thisto recognize. There we go. And it says your apple watches paired. So it says restore from a backup or setup as a new apple watch will restore from a backup and let's pickmy current one and it actually doesn't have a backup for my currentone. So I'll set it up as new. I don't mind doing that.We'll go ahead and hit, set up as new and we'llgive it just a moment. And it says connecting to yourapple watch. This may take a moment. So we'll wait for that. And letme take off the titanium version and we can take a closerlook between the two of them. So it's asking me to agree to termsand conditions. We'll do that. We'll hit agree. Waitfor it just a moment. And it says signing into youraccount. This may take a few minutes. Now I've taken the bands off so wecan take a closer look together. And just a moment, let's go throughour settings some more here or set up. 

We'll hit, okay for shared settings. And now it's asking if I want bold textsize or not. I can set this up later. Of course, it's just set todefault. We'll hit continue. And then it's asking me to putin a passcode. So I'll do that. It's asking if I want to keep myapple watch up to date manually or automatically. I'll do it manuallyhere. We'll give it a moment. Now it's asking if Iwant to set up apple pay. I'll set this up laterand then emergency SOS. You can press and hold the sidebutton to call emergency services. This will also send a message toyour emergency emergency contacts. It also has fall detection andwe'll go ahead and hit continue. And then it's asking about cellularsetup. I'll go ahead and set it up now. And now it says, installingwill be ready soon. So we'll go ahead and hit continue.It's got an always on display. We'll hit continue, and it says installavailable apps.

I'll choose those later. And it's showing what kind of appview I like. I like the list view. So I'll select that and itsays apple watch is sinking. And then you can get to know your watchand go through all of the different things about apple watch series seven.So you can see it's sinking here. And the first thing I noticed isthe display is definitely larger. That's easy to see here on theother one. Let me unlock it. This is a 45 millimeter versusthe 44 millimeter from last year. It's 20% more screenarea than the series six. And that's due to bordersthat are reduced by 40%. So we'll be able to see that a littlebit better once it's booted up and on the home screen. As far as the sidesgo, let's take a look at those. So you can see here is a series sevenversus a series six looks pretty much the same. You also have the samesensors. Like I said before, it looks again pretty muchthe same one just says, series six on the leftseries seven on the right. Nothing really is too different. However, the speakers are slightlydifferent here on the side. So instead of having alittle break between them, there's no break betweenthe speaker at all. So that's something that'sa little bit different. 

So not really too much different. Themicrophone on the other side is the same. I guess you can identify it by not havingthe little break in the center there. So that's one thing that's slightlydifferent between the two of them, other than the display. Also the weight is a little bitdifferent with stainless steel. It's going to be slightly heaviersince titanium is a lighter metal. You can feel that a little bit, but it's nothing you wouldn't easily getused to. So that's something to note. It's not really that noticeable. However,if you want a really light watch, go for the aluminum version. The other thing that I like about thesestainless steel and titanium is they have Sapphire crystal displays, which are very scratch resistantafter using the series six for a year, it has zero scratches on the displaywhatsoever. So that's one reason I get it. I tend to be a little bit clumsywith it and bumping into walls. And I don't want to puta screen protector on it. So sometimes I've bumped it into brickand it just doesn't even scratch. So it's nice to have that. So we'll go ahead and wait forthis to complete setting up. And then we'll take a closer look atthe actual features and the display.

Now the apple watch is set up and so youcan see this is the default watch face it's Meridian, although it'snot the newer watch faces. We'll take a look at that in a moment. But first let's go ahead and take a lookat our settings and see which version is pre-installed. So if wego to general and then about, we can see that it is watchOS version8.0 with a build number of 19R346. There should be an update tothis watch version as well. Similar to what happened with the iPhone.There should be an update for that. Now, if we go back, we'll go backhome here and you can see again, the watch face let's go over to,or let's add a watch face here. We'll add a new one and you cansee there's new watch faces. Now, most of these are thesame with watchOS eight, but you can see the new watch faceshere. So if we scroll down, there's new, a new one that's sort of edgeto edge and it's called contour. So we'll go ahead and hit add, and you can choose rounded or regular. 

And then if we scroll through,you've got dial color, and then you also have color.So we've got colors here. We can pick whatever we want tomatch, whatever band we're using. So we'll go to the next one.And then we have complications. We can set on this one, calendarpersonalization and so on. So that's one of the new watchfaces and it goes edge to edge. As you can see now there'salso another new watch face. So if we go over and hit new andthen tap on the new watch faces, not only do we have contour,but we also have modular duo. So if we add modular duo,you can see add face. And now you've got a bunch ofdifferent options for colors, but what you have here is notonly complications at the top, but you've got double complications. So you can change thisto whatever you'd like. And you've got a lot more room here. So you've got all sorts ofroom for different information.

Is There A Series 7 Apple Watch

If you prefer this UV index,your wind and everything else. And of course, maybe youwant to go to workouts here. You can change this one toactivity or whatever. You'd like, you have all of these differentoptions for this complication. And of course you can changethe colors as well. However, I think the other watch facelooks a little bit better. Now, one of the things that you'llsee it wraps around the edge, this display is noticeably largerthan the other one, like I said, and it's 70% brighter indoorswith your wrists down. So if I go back to maybe this watchface and bring in the series six, we'll see if we can get them to go intosort of an always on display ambient mode. Now I've got the same watch faceon both, and you can see it's Meridian. And the one on the right, the new series seven is said to be 70%brighter when in the always on display mode, you definitely can see it,but it's not a huge difference, even though it's 70% more. 

Of course,if it's in the always on display mode, you're probably not looking at itanyway. So that's something to note. One way you can easily tell the differencebetween both of them is if they go into the password mode so you can seehow much bigger the keyboard is on the right with the passcode. We'lltry that again. There we go. The passcode is definitelylarger on the series seven. It gives you an idea of overallsize with the display. Now, other than the display, there's not a whole lot new that withthis other than a larger display, 45 millimeters from 44 or againfrom the smaller sizes as well. But you also do get a coupleextra things within watchOS eight. So one of the things is obviously thelarger buttons and that's all throughout the OS. So if we go intosomething like calculator, the buttons should be much larger.It's taking a moment to load there. And so you can see the buttonshere. They're larger. Again, let me bring in the otherto compare.

And so again, here's the displays compared, and you'll see the buttons aredefinitely larger on the right. So you have a little bit more space there. You also have a full-sizekeyboard on the series seven. So if maybe we go to, uh,let's go to a message here. We'll go into messages. And if we wantto type a message, we can now say, hi, how are you? And itactually got pretty close, but I'll probably just useSiri to do the same thing. So you can use sort of quick pathor swiping on the keyboard and it seems to work. So you do have thisfull-sized key, full-size keyboard now, which does seem to work pretty well. And we'll just do the wordtoday and it picked that up. So it's actually pretty accurate despiteme having huge hands and this tiny little keyboard. So it does seemto work as far as that goes now, charging your watch this year should beup to 33% faster, according to apple. So that's something that's a littlebit new. The battery is no different. You're not going to get any additionalbattery life according to apple at this point. And you do not have adifferent processor inside. 

So we're using the same CPU or system ona chip that we have in the series six. You do get an increasedIP rating though IP six X, which makes it moredust resistant as well. So really there's a fewdifferent things here. The differences is the larger display, brighter display when in ambientmode or always on display with smaller borders. And thenalso you have that keyboard. Everything else is basically the samebetween the series six and series seven. Now I wanted to try this solo loopjust to see what it looks like as well. So we'll open it up here and these are very comfortableif you've ever used one of these. So the solo loop is about $50 by itself. And inside you do need to pickthe size that works for you. So if you don't pick thecorrect size, it won't fit. 

Apple Watch Series 7 Colors

So you'll need to measure your riskto make sure these fit properly. It's basically stretchy sort ofsilicone rubber sort of feeling. So let's go ahead and take theother watch band off for now. So we'll put the solo loopon. This is a size 10 for me, and let's see what we've got here. Sothis just fits on your wrist like that. Let's unlock it. And so you cansee it matches the solo loop. And that's what it looks like.Now, these don't really give, so you want to make sure you get theright size and it also is good to hold it tight to your wrist for the sensors towork. So you don't want it too tight, but you also want it to be comfortableas well. So size 10 or 11 might, 11 might be a little bit better for me, but this gives you an idea ofwhat the solar loop is. Like. I tend to like the braided loop. So this is something that's ahundred dollars I've had for a while. And I really like this. It's verycomfortable breeds very well, and I tend to use thator the titanium band. So I'll link those inthe description as well. So I'll have to use this for a few daysto know if it's something that I think is worth keeping or not. 

Of course I do like the look ofit being a little bit different. It's stainless steel and shiny, and I think it does look prettygreat with this black band. I think it looks nice. Ithas a good contrast to it. So I'll use it for a few days. See what it's like and see if it'sworth keeping over the series six. I would say for mostpeople, it's probably not. If you have a series five or series sixfrom a series five to a series seven, you'll probably have someincreased battery life. Of course, that faster charging and larger display. It definitely looks larger than Iexpected. And so I think I like this, although I'll probably use my defaultwatch face that I have on the other apple watch as well.
